There are moments when the landscape seems to reveal something beyond itself. A shift in light, a sudden opening in the sky, a feeling that what was hidden has quietly emerged into view. Sky in Revelation was painted from that place.
Part of my ongoing Meditations in Light series, this contemporary landscape explores the relationship between light, atmosphere and inner stillness. A luminous sky dominates the composition while expressive textures below suggest land, water and memory without becoming tied to a specific location. The painting invites the viewer to bring their own experience to the work.
Created using layers of acrylic paint, glazing and intuitive mark-making, the surface carries both energy and softness. The result is a painting that changes subtly throughout the day as natural light moves across its surface.
For me, this painting became an exploration of trust. Through multiple revisions and simplifications, the work gradually revealed itself until the light became the true subject. The title reflects that process of quiet discovery and awakening.
