Sacrifice is a Spiritual Conceptual Abstract artwork in rich purple and autumnal gold, carrying a deeply spiritual presence. The silhouette of Maria Magdalena does not shout. She holds. She witnesses. She embodies conscious devotion — the sacred act of placing something on the altar of one’s own becoming.
This piece emerged slowly through prayer, meditation, and deep inner alignment. The first whisper of the Maria Magdalena Series came shortly after my birthday — quiet, persistent, undeniable. By late September I began the first pass across four canvases. Over six months I returned again and again. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was forced. Each layer revealed itself in its own time.
Layers of acrylic were built, softened, partially removed. Textures were created and refined. Gold leaf was pressed into the surface not as decoration, but as presence — a divine thread woven through human surrender.
In 1946, my father gave me the name Maria Magdalena — long before she was widely recognised as a close companion of Jesus, or understood as a high initiated priestess within the Essene tradition.
That name has walked quietly beside me all my life.
This series is my response to it.
Sacrifice is where it began.
