A Bowl of Cherries Oil

Cherries are a sign of Summer. Its ruby-like crimson colour promises sweet juices and joy. When in June I bought some cherries and placed them near the window, I just had to paint the scene and how I felt. The light is reflected on the dish and replicated on the cloth underneath. The sun is setting over some fields with maybe a lake beyond. A cloud is gathering in the sky. The glossy cherries like jewels reflect the light and one cherry had dropped onto the table. It is a quiet, peaceful painting that should give constant fascination and pleasure to the viewer.
