Description
I have always noticed and painted Plants and Flowers, from my garden but have started to pay attention to those of the wayside, the symbiotic plants that flourish in a particular space. These are not the same as the contrived wildflower meadows which reflect human choice as much as anything else, but essential natural form.
To express this it seems the best method is to use my own photographic images – carefully edited – as material for finished pieces. I could have, and have used, conventional painting methods in the past but in this case it would be difficult to show the realism from which the emotions stem – and would be prohibitively expensive in time.Digital printing is a varied medium, the inks used can be temporary or light fast and the papers used vary in the same way. The giclee methods of printing here ensures the highest quality and has the advantage of allowing me to offer a light or dark background to each image to suit individual tastes. Each image is limited to 10 editions which I hope adds value – it’s the image the counts toward the 10 not the background choice!
I hope that you will be as intrigued with the detail here as well as the design and color.
