Description
Inspired from a photo I took, this pan pastel painting portrays two Friesian mares, Zarina and Pettie, in full stride, galloping freely across an open field in summer. The low evening sun bathes the scene in a warm glow, revealing subtle undertones of brown within their deep black coats, a nuance often hidden except in this fleeting light.
Their powerful forms move in harmony, muscles defined by the soft blending of pastels. Zarina, distinguished by her exceptionally long mane, carries it like a banner—it streams and flows with her motion. The field beneath them is gently textured in sun-warmed greens and golds, while the horizon is softened by the fading warmth of day. The painting captures both the elegance and strength of the Friesians, holding a moment of pure freedom and natural beauty at the end of a summer’s day.
It is painted on primed mountboard and measures 24" x 15.5". Requires framing - comes unframed so you can choose to suit your taste. Shipped in sturdy board and a mailing bag to arrive in good condition.
