A Postage Stamp Collage
‘Jimi’ Hendrix was widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in popular music. Although a short mainstream career in the late 1960’s/early 1970’s this American singer/songwriter fused blues, jazz, rock and soul using avant-garde techniques to redefine popular music through his personal style. Through my love of pop art I have created this portrait of him in my own personal style using approximately 3000 used British definitive postage stamps. It is not framed and should not be displayed in direct sunlight although all canvases are varnished twice and have a coat of U.V. protection.
