Description
This is a framed mixed media landscape based on my visits to the Scottish highlands. Encaustic work is an ancient method of painting which involves fusing wax, hardening agent and pigments with heat. In this painting is have used hot wax with oil paints, embedding card, webbing and cord in the foreground. As the wax dries, I have made deep markings with nails to depict the ruggedness of the land.
- This is an original, one-off, encaustic, mixed media artwork on a sealed panel of plywood.
- It is set in a contemporary grey wooden frame.
- The artwork can be free standing or hung.
- The total size, including the frame is: 21.5 x 21.5 x 3 cms.
- I have called this artwork, ‘Rooted In The Red Earth’.
- I have signed the painting at the back.
- Also included is a note of authentication.
- Shipping is included.
Care for encaustic paintings: As with all original paintings, keep encaustic artwork out of direct sunlight.
