Winter Storm Oil

I wanted to achieve the effect of being out in snowstorm ,where visibility is reduced and colours and forms are indistinct .I achieved this by using multiple layers of paint ,scraping back to
destroy original forms and overlaying
further layers .Using a squeegy and
palette knife to apply the oils gave me
the opportunity to achieve an effect
which could not have been done with
brushwork alone.It is liberating creating a painting in this way.You can use dramatic and energetic gestural marks to create forms and shapes.
