I like to experiment with colour and emphasise the quality of the medium I’m using, often layering oil and household paint as the difference in texture creates an interesting contrast. I have a varied collection of landscape, figurative and still life works. Recently I took part as a wildcard in Landscape Artist of the Year which was a brilliant experience competing and painting with fellow artist, the best company there is!

Interests

Capturing the outside world and my travels through mark making and colour. Also painting from memory or old photographs. I experiment with layering household paint and oil.

Artistic background

I have been painting with oil paints for over 25 years and enjoy the vibrant hues and texture created by the medium itself. Studying art through school years, following on with a BTEC at college and currently coming to the end of my Art degree in Painting with the Open University.
