Artistic background
I am a self-taught artist based in the UK, working primarily in sculptural 3D portraits. After more than a decade of painting, I gradually moved beyond the flat surface, seeking a more tactile and intimate way of creating. This shift became especially important during a challenging period in my life, when I needed a slower, more physical connection to the work. Building forms by hand allowed me to reconnect with both the process and myself.
My portraits are created using paper clay and air-dry clay on wooden panels. They often depict quiet, child-like figures — fragile yet watchful — holding small symbolic objects.
Through texture, muted tones, and aged surfaces, I explore themes of memory, vulnerability, and unseen emotional worlds. Each piece exists as both an image and an object, inviting a quiet, personal response from the viewer.
