Description
Venice is synonymous with romance and mystery. Having visited the city during the hot summer months when it is packed with tourists and hustle and bustle we decided a pre-Christmas visit would enable us to experience different moods, a taste of the winter season and explore a variety of the morning and evening atmosphere. In the chill of winter the atmosphere becomes both magical and mysterious. In this piece, I blend acrylic paints and collage techniques to evoke the ephemeral beauty of Venice at dusk. The expressive use of texture and muted colour palette captures a moment suspended between day and night, emphasizing the timeless allure of this ancient city. The glowing lamps illuminate the scene, guiding the viewer’s eye towards the distant silhouette. This artwork aims to transport the viewer to a serene, reflective plane, adding a touch of romantic nostalgia.
