Oil on board.
When I paint trees I'm always aware of the space around them. The countryside and the backdrop of the sky are just as important to the final artwork.
This sky is overcast, the trees skeleton trunks and branches peeping through the mist. Everything in the scene rises from an ochre field. Both the foreground flowers and the distant mist have the illusion of detail.
