'Here's Looking at you Kid' Hippos on the Zambezi Oil

While in the remote Chewore South territory of northern Zimbabwe in late June 2022 I spent a couple of days on the Zambezi. Hippos were in family groups popping their heads up in curiosity as we made our way on the river. Their rough bellows and the noise of them munching on the camp grass back at base lulled me to sleep most nights. Their bulkiness on land turns to suppleness as they glide through the water, their hide glistening in the sunlight.

The painting is varnished with matt artist varnish.
The sides of this canvas are white and the work is ready to hang with fittings attached.
