Impasto Landscape - Olive Trees Oil

I normally reserve a pallet knife for skies, but here I've used it to create an impasto landscape of trees and countryside. A glimpse of an imaginary world with orchards and vineyards and distant fields. The paint is thick, the shades are pastel, and the pallet knife has allowed me to create a surreal, dreamy composition.

I don't think a piece of artwork has to be large to have an impact. I prefer to create smaller pieces that draw closer inspection. They may influence a limited area, but still add an intriguing and unexpected element to a room.
