"Hopefully, for my viewers, a painting will open the eyes of the heart for them to experience a somewhat deeper connection to the world. If so, then I can feel I have accomplished my job. The intuitive and skilful use of colour by any artist plays a large part in this. So, I really hope you enjoy these colours I have brought together in symphony for this show
My paintings are a visual representation of my deepest feelings - pleasure, fear, sorrow, happiness, humour. And, to people attuned to my compositions, they may well be mirrors of their own experiences. It is because of this that I have left the explanation of the paintings completely to the viewer, so that they are not bound by my interpretation of what each picture should be.
I draw inspiration from the streets around me, I am attracted to the atmosphere of cities; the bright light, noise, the vitality. My paintings explore the way that light falls in a city ,how it casts shadows and reflections, how it pierces the darkness. I enjoy painting streets, markets, cafes-seeing how people behave, painting them in stillness or in frantic motion".
