Description
The purple-red anthers of the Nelly Moser clematis caught my attention. This climber has large star-shaped pink-lilac petals, each with a carmine stripe that slowly fades in bright sunlight. These new pastel drawings of flowers in my garden are the beginning of a new series of work, summer 2024, that I am hoping will form the basis of a new body of semi-abstract oil pastels that will keep me busy in my studio during the winter months to come.
