Artistic background

After my BA Fine Art Degree (Glasgow School of Art) and MA in Fine Art (Central St Martins) where I was interested in Performance and Photography, I turned my hand to Painting before Lockdown, interested in process as performance and the spaces that these share together.
Art enables me to make intuitive decisions and find solutions naturally. I think therapeutically this activity of making where play is started, worked through and completed is a process where problem solving can be practised. By recognising this sensation, we can learn through it and familiarise ourselves with our ability to trust in a process we may not fully understand and give us the tools to work through and come to conclusions we may not have expected or foreseen. This sense of completion and surprise in the work keeps me engaged and rewarded.
As an imagined space I paint open landscapes in conscious play with the process ending in conclusions of beauty.
Sunrises and sunsets attract me as magical moments where the immediacy of the work gives me creative purpose and are meditations on the infinite potential between day and night.
