Description
This tree stands alone among the heather on a windswept moor, providing inspiration for this drawing which has been created with a 3D pen and flexible filament.
Working with a 3D pen is literally drawing with plastic and using the rubber-like filament, I've made a piece of round lace. The lace-like fabric has then been securely sewn to a 60cm sturdy wire hoop with fishing line.
I've used black filament for the drawing and clear for the background.
It is difficult to choose a category for this artwork. Is it a drawing or is it a sculpture? It is a drawing done with plastic.
This is an incredibly light piece of art which makes hanging the piece a very easy task.
My 3D pen wall hangings/tapestries look quite delicate but the TPU filament is incredible strong and durable.
It's very easy to keep the art clean and dust free with a vacuum attachment or feather duster.
